My company rents and sells air purifiers and air filtration equipment.
Ever since the beginning of the coronavirus, we have been busier than ever before.
Business is booming thanks to the benefits that our air purifiers offer. We have several rented industrial air purifiers around town and they get serviced every week. One of the guys on my team is responsible for servicing and checking all of the rental units. He was out of town last week for a wedding, so I decided to run the route instead of assigning someone else to do the work. I was on the second job when I noticed one of the air purifiers was shut off. The machine was unplugged at the wall, which is a serious violation right now. Every local business has to run an air purifier in order to remain open for business during the pandemic. As soon as I saw the unplugged machine, I immediately alerted the shop owner. The health department would have shut him down and given the guy a fine. The owner and manager was just as surprised as I was until the day shift clerk admitted that she turned off the machine. She said it was beeping loudly and she couldn’t watch tv in the break room because the noise was too loud. She unplugged the air purifier so she could watch the news and the weather. I politely reminded the shop owner and the employee that the air purifier has to be running to kill the virus. The shop owner threatened to take action against the employee if it happens again.
