After I bought a house, I called an HVAC contractor to give me an estimate for a brand new central AC system. The old house didn’t have any central AC or heat, so I had to pay for ductwork to be installed and that estimate was very expensive. The HVAC contractor offered a different option that was much cheaper and easier. He suggested installing a couple of ductless HVAC units. I didn’t know a lot about ductless HVAC options, so I did some research and I asked a lot of questions. I wasn’t positive that the ductless HVAC units would offer the same powerful heating and cooling as a traditional HVAC system. The answers I found online were very helpful and honest. After several days of deliberating, I finally decided to skip the central AC and the ductwork and I went with the ductless HVAC options. The installation technician installed two separate air handlers in the house and both of them are connected to one central device. Each mini-split ductless unit has a separate thermostat to control the heat and AC. The cooling capabilities are amazing and the two machines work well at removing the indoor heat and humidity. I barely use the AC unit in the back of the house, because the living room unit is so powerful and effective. Choosing the ductless option was a great choice for my property. I have the machines serviced every season by a licensed technician and I change the air filters monthly. The equipment should last a long time as long as I take care of it.
